Increasingly windy north
High pressure expands across western and central Europe with plenty of fine weather from Spain and Portugal, some pleasant winter sunshine with highs of 17C in the southwest. Also settled weather for France, Germany, the Low Countries, Alps and Italy. Some fog patches. One or two showers around the Mediterranean, but many places dry.
Snow showers for eastern Europe, mainly Ukraine and Romania feeling chilly with brisk northwesterly winds here. Largely dry for the Balkans with sunny spells. Some rain and mountain snow for Turkey. Showers for Greece. Some more persistent rain affects Cyprus.
Heavy rain affects northwest Norway, snow on the mountains. Mostly dry for southern Norway, much of Sweden with fairly mild temperatures. Colder further east across Finland with sub-zero temperatures. Also dry for Denmark and the Baltic states but a chilly wind continues here.
Dry with sunshine for Spain, Portugal and southern France. Chance of a shower for Corsica, but much of the western Mediterranean stays fine. Local showers may move into Sicily from the east. A few showers possible for southern Greece but many islands stay dry. Showery for Cyprus. Some rain and mountain snow for Turkey although western areas will be generally dry.
A fresh westerly breeze affects northern Europe, strongest over Scandinavia. Some rain moves into northern France, later the Low Countries. Meanwhile, Germany, the Alpine regions and Poland will be generally dry. Fairly high pressure over eastern Europe keeps things dry here with some frost and fog.
Heavy rain and snow for the west and north of Norway, later rain developing too for Denmark. Mostly dry across Sweden and the Baltic states. Some areas of snow will affect Finland.
