Very unsettled week ahead for west and central Europe
Monday A wet day across much of central and northern Spain, as well as Portugal. Drier in eastern Spain with sunny spells, and these will extend into the Balearics. Corsica and Sardinia. Much of Italy will be dry, although there will be some showery rain in northern Italy. Greece mostly dry with plenty of sunshine. Local showers northern Turkey. Wet through France, with bands of rain, passing from west to east, persistent and heavy. Germany will also have clouds and some rain, most of this affecting central and southern areas. Poland will be dry with spells of sunshine. Hungary is dry too with sunny spells here and these extend to Austria. Switzerland will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain. Denmark will be cloudy with periods of rain and this rain extends into the south of Norway and Sweden. The Baltic states will be brighter and dry with some sunny spells. Fair too across Finland with some sunshine here. Showers affecting central parts of Sweden and central parts of Norway where it will be breezy. A taste of winter in northern Norway where it will be cold with some snow showers.
Tuesday Rain affects north and central Spain, setting in heavier for the northwest of Spain and Portugal during the day. A seperate intense rain system moves across central and southern France into the western Alps, north and central Italy. Heavy rain also affects Corsica and Sardinia. Powerful winds for a time in the western Mediterranean. Southern Italy dry until later. Fine, sunny and warm for Greece and Turkey. Showery for northern France and Belgium. Some rain affects southwestern Germany, drier in the northeast of Germany. Fine and warm for Poland and much of eastern Europe with southerly winds. Rain on and off for Denmark and southern Sweden and Norway. Areas of rain pivot northwards over Scandinavia around low pressure. Drier for much of Finland and the Baltic states.
