Thundery rain spreads east across central Europe
Much of Spain and Portugal will be dry, hot in the south, topping 35C, but fresher on the Biscay coast, nearer the low 20s Celsius. Some rain around the Pyrenees, whilst low pressure over France brings a wet day to central districts. Rain extends into the western Alps, including Switzerland and northern Italy. The spine of Italy will be dry and warm.
Hot and dry conditions continue for southeastern Europe, including Greece and Turkey, topping 40C once again. A scattering of thunderstorms across eastern countries from Romania to Poland, Ukraine and Belarus. Areas of rain too for northern Germany and the Low Countries. Northern central Europe will be generally on the cool side for high summer, hovering around 19 to 22C.
A few showers for central Norway and some rain too for northwestern coasts. A small low over the far north brings strong winds to northern Finland. Much of Sweden and Finland plus the Baltic states will be dry with only local showers.
Hot, sunny and dry across Spain and Portugal, widely into the upper 30s Celsius across southern Iberia. Patchy cloud and rain may drift into the far northwest of Spain. Dry and warm for southern France and much of Italy, whilst the heat goes on the southeast of Europe, topping 40C again on mainland Greece.
Breezy and showery for northern France, plus remnants of previous rain toward the east. A wet day for much of Germany and southern Poland. Thundery downpours extending across Austria into Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and western Ukraine. Quite cool for Alpine regions.
Northern Poland, the Baltic states and Denmark should stay largely dry with some warm sun. A mostly fine day for Norway, Sweden and Finland, but one or two heavy showers forming over the mountains. Low 20s Celsius around the Baltic.
