High pressure builds from west


Monday
A dry and fine day through Iberia as well as the Balearic islands. Italy also looks to benefit form lengthy sunny spells and mostly dry conditions, however the odd shower could develop along a few eastern coasts as well as across northern Sardinia later. A few scattered showers through southern Greece but mainly dry for Turkey.
Dry and fine though with mist and fog about across central and western European countries, including France and the Low Countries. A front will bring a band of rain and snow across eastern Germany, extensive snowfall advancing south across Poland, Belarus and the Czech Republic, also moving into Ukraine. Windy too for these regions. Areas of snow and freezing rain reaches Austria, Hungary and Romania later in the day.
Perhaps slightly less windy across Scandinavia today though still with a fresh to strong wind about. Rain, sleet and snow for north and west Norway. Drier through Sweden and Finland while feeling chilly. Dry with some good sunny spells about though cold and windy across the Baltics. A dry day for Denmark too with some sunny spells.


Tuesday
High pressure expands across western and central Europe with plenty of fine weather from Spain and Portugal, some pleasant winter sunshine with highs of 17C in the southwest. Also settled weather for France, Germany, the Low Countries, Alps and Italy. Some fog patches. One or two showers around the Mediterranean, but many places dry.
Snow showers for eastern Europe, mainly Ukraine and Romania feeling chilly with brisk northwesterly winds here. Largely dry for the Balkans with sunny spells. Some rain and mountain snow for Turkey. Showers for Greece. Some more persistent rain affects Cyprus.
Heavy rain affects northwest Norway, snow on the mountains. Mostly dry for southern Norway, much of Sweden with fairly mild temperatures. Colder further east across Finland with sub-zero temperatures. Also dry for Denmark and the Baltic states but a chilly wind continues here.
