Cold for much of Europe, best sunshine in eastern Mediterranean

Tuesday
Once again turning more unsettled across Portugal and Spain with thundery, heavy showers developing extensively. Showers pushing across the Balearic islands too into western regions of Corsica and Sardinia. Italy and Greece staying dry with sunny spells. West Turkey also dry but eastern areas seeing heavy showers develop later.
A front with rain on it pushes across France, parts of the north seeing heavy rainfall. A few showers for the Low Countries but largely dry here. Rain affecting Germany for a time but mainly dry. Some isolated showers across Austria and Switzerland but dry for the Balkans. Patchy rain for Poland but largely dry too.
Cold with snow showers pushing down Norway into parts of Sweden though much of Sweden looking to stay dry, just a few scattered showers in the south. Mostly dry but feeling cool across Denmark and the Baltic states. Snow showers affecting parts of Finland too and feeling particularly bitterly cold here.

Wednesday
Cold and unsettled across Spain on Wednesday. There will be frequent showers or longer spells of rain, especially in central and southern areas. brighter for Portugal. Scattered showers too for the Balearics. Heavy showers and cold weather in northern Italy, but fine in the south with sunshine. More sunshine to come in Greece and Turkey.
Cold across France too with further showers and sleet, mostly in central and southern areas. Drier and brighter in the north. The Low Countries will be bright with sunny spells with plenty of sunshine in northern Germany. Poland should be bright and cold, some showers in the south. Unsettled across Hungary and Austria as well as Switzerland with wintry showers here.
Fine for Denmark and chilly. Cold across the southern parts of Sweden. The Baltic States are cold too with sunny spells. A few wintry showers in the Baltic States. Norway will have frequent wintry showers in the north and west but should be drier and brighter to the south.
