Windy and unsettled over northern Europe, generally fair to the south


Friday
Fair for much of Spain and Portugal on Friday. There will be some low cloud and drizzle affecting the coasts of northern Spain. Fair for the Balearics and for Corsica and Sardinia. Morning fog in Italy clearing to leave a fine day with plenty of sunshine. Bright too for Greece and the Balkans with dry conditions and sunshine here, fair in western Turkey too.
Windy with rain for central and northern France. This rain affecting the Low Countries and Germany, some of it heavy. The rain then spreads to Poland. Fair for Hungary and Austria but some cloud and outbreaks of rain in Switzerland.
Denmark has an unsettled and windy day with cloud and rain. More rain affecting southern Norway and wet too in southern Sweden. Breezy in the Baltic States with periods of rain and sleet. Finland will be breezy with some sleety rain. Some snow showers in northern Sweden whilst northern Norway should be dry.

Saturday
Staying dry and fine for Portugal, Spain, the Balearics, Corsica and Sardinia as high pressure dominates the western Mediterranean. Some morning showers for southern and eastern Italy should clear but there will be heavier and more prolonged rain for the Balkans on Saturday. Rain will spread into northern and western Greece where it will fall as snow over higher ground. Western Turkey should have a fine day though cloud will build through the late afternoon.
Staying windy with showers for the northern half of France, Benelux and Germany on Saturday. A band of rain will clear to the east of Poland during the morning leaving a mainly bright and dry day before a second band of rain moves in from the west in the evening.
Denmark and southern Sweden will be windy with heavy rain throughout Saturday. A band of rain and sleet will clear the Baltic states through the afternoon and move into southern Finland. There will be some snow showers and longer spells of snow for central and northern parts of Sweden and Norway.
