Wind and rain for west Europe

Friday
Showers or longer spells of rain expected for much of the day across Spain and Portugal, with the best of the drier weather in southern and eastern areas. Some scattered showers continue for the Balearics.
An unsettled day in western and central France, with heavy rain or showers at times during the day. Rain continues in southern Italy, with heavy rain for most of the day across Sicily and Calabria. Some heavy showers expected on the Greek islands, but the mainland and Balkans should remain dry and pleasantly warm.
A dry and mild day for Germany, Poland and Hungary, with variable amounts of cloud. Rain continues along coastal areas of Norway, but Denmark, Sweden and Finland should remain dry.

Saturday
Rain affecting much of Portugal and central regions of Spain on Saturday. Patchy rain in the north too with showers across the Balearic Islands. Heavy rain moving into Corsica and parts of Sardinia as the day progresses. East Sicily and the far southern tip of mainland Italy seeing spells of rain also. Largely dry across the rest of Italy and much of Greece and Turkey.
Outbreaks of rain across much of France with a brisk wind. Heavy rain moving into Belgium and the Netherlands later. Largely dry across Germany but breezy for northern and western regions. Heavy showers through southern regions of Switzerland but dry across Austria, Poland and eastern Europe.
Plenty of dry weather across Scandinavia, although a brisk wind is about with some rain through parts of Norway at times. The very far north of Finland looks to be wet with rain also. Dry and fair across the Baltic States.
