Dry and warm southern Spain; chilly winds northern Europe

Saturday
Spain and Portugal will see cool and showery conditions in the north, but staying warm and dry in the south, up to 23C in Andalucia. Heavy rain and mountain snow affects eastern France, Switzerland, western Austria and northern Italy, setting in for much of the day as a small area of low pressure forms around the Gulf of Genoa, with some thundery downpours. Windy for the western Mediterranean, risk local gales. Rain advances east across Germany into Poland. Showers follow across northern France and the Low Countries.
Dry and fairly mild for east & south-eastern Europe, 10 to 14C for the Balkans, Hungary and Romania. Scandinavia will be cool, or cold in the north, where temperature will stay close to freezing. Showery in western Norway, plus strong winds. Largely dry across Sweden. Some rain moves into the Baltic states later. Patchy snow for northern Finland.

High pressure builds around Biscay, bringing fair weather to Spain and Portugal, warm at 21C in the south-west, but chilly on the Biscay coast, nearer 10C. Strong to gale force Mistral winds affect southern France and the western Mediterranean. Wet for northern Italy, whilst a zone of heavy rain and mountain snow moves south across the Balkans. Rain also affects Hungary, Slovakia, south-east Poland and western Ukraine. Patchy snow for the Alps. Mainly dry for Greece , with local showers around the coasts of Turkey and Cyprus. Much of France should be dry and bright. A chilly westerly wind brings showers to the Low Countries and Denmark, perhaps north-west Germany. Much of Germany should be dry and bright, but cool at 3 to 6C. A zone of snow for Finland, rain near the coast. Scattered showers across Norway and Sweden, but plenty of dry weather too.
