Increasingly unsettled conditions spread over northwestern Europe this week


Tuesday
Largely dry to start across Spain but an area of low pressure brings in outbreaks of rain to northern Portugal and later across northwest Spain as well. Scattered showers still over the Balearic Islands while outbreaks of rain, this locally heavy, affect Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Italy and the Balkans. A dry and fine day for Greece and Turkey.
Showery outbreaks of rain affecting much of France as well as Austria, Switzerland and Hungary. Some heavy, thundery spells at times. Dry again for the Low Countries, Germany and eastern Europe and feeling warm here.
Dry and fine over Denmark as well as the Baltic States as they continue to pull in a mild southwesterly flow. Dry and fine for much of Sweden and Finland today but with wind and rain towards the north of these countries. Plenty of dry conditions across southeast Norway but outbreaks of rain further north and west.

Wednesday
Outbreaks of rain for Portugal and western Spain on Wednesday with showers developing over northern Spain later. Staying dry and fine to the southeast. Showers continue to affect the Balearic Islands, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily and Italy where they will largely be focussed to the west of the Appenines. Heavy, sometimes thundery, outbreaks of rain affect the Balkans and western Greece. Cloudier for eastern Greece while Turkey should stay dry and fine.
Outbreaks of rain spread across northwestern France and the Low Countries while afternoon showers bubble up over southern France, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic and southern Germany. Some of these will be thundery. Staying dry and fine for northern Germany as well as for Poland and much of Slovakia.
Denmark sees outbreaks of rain develop through the day, these affecting much of Norway as well as northwestern Sweden. Staying largely dry and fine for southeastern Sweden, much of Finland and the Baltic States.
