Windy southern Scandinavia; very cold far north
A large area of high pressure resides over western Europe, bringing extensive fair weather to France, Italy, the Alps and also Iberia. Rather cool, with temperatures only 3 or 4C in central Europe. Highs of 16C in southern Spain and Portugal. Plenty of sunshine and light winds. Some morning fog patches. Scattered showers for Greece . A warm front moves east across Poland bringing rain or some snow, which also affects the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. Breezy for northern Germany and southern Scandinavia. Slow-moving fronts bring heavy rain and mountain snow to south-west Norway, and snow showers in the north-west. A zone of rain and snow affects southern Finland and the Baltic states. Sub-zero temperatures in northern Scandinavia.
High pressure remains in charge across central and southern Europe. Extensively dry for Spain and Portugal, the Mediterranean, Alps and France. Reaching around 16C again in southern Spain. 5 to 8C for France and Germany. Breezy for northern Germany Denmark and Poland, with some persistent rain around the southern Baltic. Rain and snow extends east into Ukraine, Belarus and western Russia. Generally dry for south-eastern Europe. Showery for northern Turkey. Patchy rain for western Norway. Drier but cold elsewhere across Scandinavia, with scattered snow showers in the north.
