Downpours for Scandinavia

Tuesday
Low pressure is to the north of Europe, whilst slack higher pressure lies to the south. Dry, hot and sunny conditions across the Mediterranean. Plenty of warm sunshine for Portugal, Spain, the Balearics, Corsica, Sardinia, Italy, the Balkans, Greece and Turkey. A chance of afternoon showers developing over northern Spain, the Balearic Islands and coastal regions of northern and southern Turkey.
A cloudy day for western parts of Europe. Showers, some of them thundery, over southern parts of France. Mostly dry for Benelux while a band of showers works its way southeastward across Germany. Heavy, thundery showers also affecting parts of Switzerland, Austria and Poland at times. Staying mostly dry for Hungary while the Czech Republic and Slovakia could also see showers.
A showery day for Denmark while heavy showers will become more widespread across southern and central Norway and across Sweden. Heavy showers edging into southern parts of Finland and affecting the Baltic States. These heavier and more frequent to the south.

Wednesday
Some further showers are likely for northern Spain and Portugal, whilst central and southern Spain stays hot and dry. Much of the Mediterranean holds onto sunshine and very warm conditions, well into the 30s Celsius widely.
Slack low pressure over central Europe produces widespread thundery downpours for the Alps and Germany, some advancing eastwards into Poland. Areas of heavy rain also spread across the Baltic states into Belarus, northern Ukraine and western Russia. Generally hot and dry for southeastern Europe.
Showers should clear from France, with brighter skies extending in from the west. Showers will be scattered across the Low countries. Further areas of thundery rain affect southern Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Northern Scandinavia should be generally drier and brighter.
