Hot & dry conditions persist across the Med; turning fresher & showery to the north


Sunday
A hot and sunny day for Portugal and Spain. Some thundery showers possible for northwestern Spain. Dry, hot and sunny across the rest of the Mediterranean. Warm and dry for Greece and Turkey with some thundery downpours along Turkey's northern coast.
A band of cloud with some light, scattered showers works in across northwestern France, the Low Countries and northwest Germany on Sunday while southern parts of France, as well as Switzerland and Austria may see the odd thundery downpour. Elsewhere, southeastern parts of France and Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary will see the continuation of hot, dry conditions.
Hazy sunshine but dry for Denmark and the Baltic States on Sunday. A few light showers for southern Finland but elsewhere dry and bright. A band of heavy rain works its way northward over central parts of Norway and Sweden followed by scattered showers. Generally drier and sunny to the south.

Monday
Another hot day for Spain and Portugal with some showers for the north coast of Spain through the day. There is the possibility of thunderstorms for central Spain through the afternoon. The Balearic Islands, Corsica, Sardinia, Italy, the Balkans, Greece and Turkey should see the continuation of dry and hot conditions on Monday.
A band of heavy showers work their way southeastward across France and southern Germany on Monday. These also affecting Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic and southern Poland. Fresher conditions follow behind this rain to the northwest. Ahead of this, over southeastern Europe conditions remain hot and dry.
Fresh westerly winds bring a mixture of sunny spells and showers across much of Scandinavia, Finland and the Baltic States on Monday. These showers may be particularly heavy for southern Sweden.
