Hot weather affecting most of Europe, some thunderstorms in more central areas
Saturday Widespread thunderstorms developing across north and east Spain later today, one or two may just reach Ibiza, otherwise dry and sunny through the Balearic islands. Thunderstorms also breaking out across southern Italy into the Blakns and northern regions of Greece. Elsewhere will be largely dry and fine. Staying settled and hot with highs reaching well into the 30s, a few places 40C across much of France, the Low Countries and Germany. Scattered showers through eastern Europe, some locally heavy. Hot across Denmark with strong sunshine and dry weather. Settled, dry weather continues through the Baltic states and much of the rest of Scandinavia, though it continues to be windy with patchy rain and cloud across the north of Norway.
Sunday Sunshine and dry for Portugal and most of Spain. Some showers in eastern Spain. Fair for Corsica and Sardinia as well as Italy. Greece will have sunshine and fair conditions. Some showers in western Turkey, but fair in central and eastern parts as well as being hot. Western France will be dry with sunshine, but heavy thunderstorms in the east. The Low Countries will be fine and sunny. Staying fair in Germany with more sunshine. Heavy showers in central and eastern Poland. Hungary and Austria are set to be dry too, with heavy showers in western Switzerland. Scattered showers for Denmark. The Baltic States will be dry and fine with sunshine and it will be remaining dry too in Finland. Sweden stays dry again, more sunshine to come. Scattered showers in Norway.
