Wednesday
Dry and warm weather for much of Spain and Portugal, with just a chance of a shower in the middle of Spain by afternoon; highs 33 to 37C. Much of France also looks dry, but some showers are likely toward the north.
Italy and the Mediterranean islands will see hot sunshine, widely topping 30C inland, although areas toward the Alps will be thundery, with rain breaking out widely into Austria, and also the Balkan mountains through the day. Greece and the Black Sea coast will be dry, hot and sunny, whilst inland Romania sees thunderstorms.
A zone of heavy rain is expected to extend across western Poland, east and northern Germany, plus Denmark, whilst some heavy showers affect the Low Countries. High pressure extends over Scandinavia, although southwest Norway may catch showers. Feeling cool for Finland and the Baltic states under a northerly breeze.


Thursday
Areas of thundery showers are likely to break out around the Pyrenees, but much of Spain and France will be dry with hot sunshine. A northerly breeze affects Portugal.
Some bursts of rain and thunder over the central Alps, whilst a zone of thunderstorms is likely to extend from northern Germany and Denmark to Poland, Slovakia and Romania. Much of the Mediterranean will be dry and sunny, incluind most of Italy and Greece. Central-southern Germany and the Czech Republic should also escape dry.
Scandinavia will be mainly dry with sunshine and isolated showers. Temperatures rising to 23 to 25C for eastern Sweden, whilst the far north stays cool, barely 10C in northern Norway under a northerly breeze.
