Thundery, heavy rain moving across France by the weekend
Friday A trough sits over the western part of Europe bringing outbreaks of heavy rain to southern and central France as well as western and central areas of Spain including Portugal. A gusty wind also for southern regions of Spain and Portugal. Mostly dry with sunny spells for the Balearics. Sunshine and showers for Italy and the Balkans, a few heavier showers across southern areas here. Dry and fine for Greece and Turkey. Northern parts of France as well as the Low Countries and much of Germany remain dry but rather cloudy and breezy, windy towards coasts. Some rain for southern parts of Poland but dry and fine further north. Thundery showers likely across Switzerland and Austria. A breezy but generally fine day through Denmark, the odd shower possible. Largely dry and fine across much of Scandinavia, though likely to see more scattered showers across northern regions of Norway and Finland. Dry with sunny spells for the Baltics.
Saturday Showery rain still affecting Spain and Portugal but it looks to improve as the day progresses with sunny spells developing. Some scattered showers affecting the Balearic islands but also sunny spells. Cloudier across Corsica but largely dry. Dry and generally fine through Sardinia and much of Italy including Greece and Turkey. Thundery, heavy rain affetcing much of France today as well as Switzerland. Cloudier across the Low Countries and Germany but it should remain mostly dry. Cloud and some showery rain for Austria. Heavy bursts of rain for parts of Poland. Some morning rain for the Balkans but a drier afternoon. Another breezy day for Denmark with the odd scattered shower about but mostly dry. Heavy rain moving up from the south across the Baltics later with winds strengthening. Largely dry and fine through Norway, Sweden and Finland.
