Scandinavia stays dry with sunshine

Thursday
High pressure extends across northern Europe, with a general northeasterly airflow for the heart of the continent. Prolonged heavy rain for southern Spain and a few showers for Portugal. Northern Iberia stays dry with sun. Much of France is also dry. A few showers for Italy, mixed with areas of dry and sunny weather too.
Southeastern Europe is largely dry with sunshine for Greece and the Balkan states. Areas of rain for the central Alps and southern Germany, snow over the mountains. Showers for the Low Countries. Rain is likely to be fairly extensive over Poland and Ukraine. Areas of showers too for Romania and Belarus.
Dry for much of Scandinavia with light winds, but it will be breezy around the Baltic. A westerly breeze in northern Norway brings some cloud and rain here.

Friday
A few showers continue to affect southern Spain, plus a few popping up over the Pyrenees and around the mountains over the French-Italian border too. Mainly dry for Portugal and northwest Spain. Low pressure over the central-southern Mediterrain brings heavy rain and brisk winds to Sardinia and southern Italy. Dry for much of northern Italy and the Balkans. Greece is likely to see some outbreaks of showery rain.
France, the Low Countries and much of Germany will be dry, although a few showers may affect eastern Germany and the Czech Republic. Scattered showers for Poland and Romania. More organised areas of rain or showers for Ukraine. Staying breezy for the southern Baltic, but much of Scandinavia will be dry as high pressure stays in charge here. Some warm sunshine for southern Norway and Sweden.
