Heavy rain and snow for southeast Europe
Friday Settled conditions remain in west with good sunshine across Spain and Portugal, a bit more cloudy across France with only a few showers. Low pressure over north Africa will gradually weaken with Sardinia and Corsica seeing sunny spells, likewise Italy away from Sicily. Showery for Greece mostly across the western exposed areas as well as the Eastern Aegean Sea where some thunderstorms are possible into western Turkey. Further north, and as the north-northwesterly wind develops further, temperatures will go down with rain turning into snow even down to low levels across Germany, Poland, and the Baltic States. Some heavier rain and mountain snow across the Balkans, this more persistent across Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Romania Romania. Some heavy snowfalls for northern Norway. Showers for eastern Sweden, but drier for southern regions of Scandinavia. Windy with showers for Denmark however.
Saturday Fine and sunny for Spain and Portugal. Local showers for the Balearics, Corsica and Sardinia. Much of northern Italy looks dry but some showers in the east and heavy rain to the south of Italy. Low pressure over the eastern Mediterranean brings heavy rain to Greece and Turkey, snow over the mountains. Dry for west and central France, but showers further east. Chilly and strong northerly winds push frequent showers into the Low Countries and Germany. Frequent snow into the northern Alps for Switzerland and Austria. Cold with wintry showers too for Poland and Czechia. Drier for Hungary. Generally cold across Scandinavia, with snow showers around coastal areas, but a good amount of dry weather for central Norway and Sweden, also Denmark. Snow showers for the Baltic states and northern Finland.
