Showers for the eastern Mediterranean

Today
An area of rain will stretch from northern France, England, The Low Countries into the Baltic States. Fine and dry with sunny spells across Portugal, Spain into central and southern France, Germany into Poland, The Czech Republic, Austria. After frosty starts with dense fog and freezing fog, it will also be dry with sunny spells across much of the Adriatic Region and the Balkans as high pressure dominates. Some snow to affect eastern parts of Turkey with the west fine and dry. A number of heavy showers are expected from Crete to Cyprus. Fair, cold but dry across Italy today. Outbreaks of snow spread into western parts of Norway with eastern Norway and Sweden dry with sunny spells but very cold. Cloudy with patchy snow today across Finland.

Colder across Britain but dry and sunny. A cold and wintry day across Germany, Poland, The Baltic States into Russia with outbreaks of snow, some of it heavy. Snow showers to affect parts of Belgium and The Netherlands with a sunny, cold day across Denmark, and into southern parts of Norway and Sweden. Dry today across Finland. Dry and sunny with morning frost and fog across The Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Austria, The Czech Republic, Hungary and the Adriatic Region. Sunny and dry again across western parts of Turkey with snow in the east. Most of Italy should be dry today with showers around Sardinia and Corsica. Heavy rain to affect Portugal and western Spain. Further showers are expected from the Greek Isles to Cyprus.
